June, 2020.- Facing an encouraging panorama and on the way to reopening tourist and gastronomic facilities for the domestic market, among other economic and social activities, Cuba is moving towards recovery after more than three months of intense confrontation with COVID -19, although the Government in the island urges to maintain strict compliance with the measures applied until now.
Special emphasis is placed on social distancing, hygiene and the use of a mask or nasobucos, in addition to specific hygiene and disinfection actions, with the aim of immobilizing the disease and continuing to progress gradually through the different phases envisaged in the first stage of recovery. of the pandemic.
In the largest of the Antilles, 13 provinces and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud pass through the first stage of recovery and present a stable epidemiological situation, without reporting positive patients.
On the Island, conditions for new normality are created in the three phases outlined in the first stage after Covid-19, in the Education, Culture and Sports sectors. Also, the Ministry of Education announced that the school year will begin on the 1st of September to come.
The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, at the meeting that he leads every day with the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, specified that “we must continue to work intensively, rigorously. I think that the level of research that is being done at the present time has given a lot of results. ”
He called for strengthening the more demanding control measures, especially in the provinces of Havana and Matanzas, which are not yet in the first stage after Covid-19: “This will allow us to advance in a more secure way in the results” Díaz-Canel Bermúdez pointed out.
While Cuba defeats the pandemic in its own territory and contributes in some 59 nations of the world to curb the contagion or save human lives, the government of the United States of America insists on its campaign against the medical collaboration of the Island.
A new crusade of US senators against the medical cooperation of this Caribbean nation was described by the solidarity association Cuba Si France as perverse, miserable and defamatory, an action aimed at threatening countries that request it.
Information published by the Prensa Latina agency denounces that “the senators, known for their anti-Cuban stance, introduced in Congress on Wednesday the initiative called ‘Stop the profits of the Cuban regime’, in order to threaten the beneficiaries of the health collaboration of the largest of the Antilles by pointing them out as accomplices of an alleged trafficking in human beings ”.
In the face of this macabre maneuver, let us remember the thinking of the most universal of Cubans, the National Hero, José Martí: “When honor came to me / From the generous land, / I did not think of Blanca or Rosa, / Nor of the great favor. / I thought of the poor gunner, / Who is in the grave, silent / I thought of my father, the soldier / I thought of my father, the worker ”.
