En medio del recrudecimiento del bloqueo económico, financiero y comercial e impuesto por Estados Unidos de América la mayor de las Antillas se impuso a la COVID-19 y se prepara para retornar a la normalidad a mediados de la semana próxima o la siguiente.
Lo anterior lo aseveró el presidente de Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, en su comparecencia este jueves, en el programa televisivo Mesa Redonda y afirmó que el nuevo coronavirus constituyó un desafío para la nación caribeña.
«Se ha trabajado intensamente en función de salvar vidas y los resultados nos conducen a vislumbrar que estamos en un momento cercano a pasar a la recuperación».
Argumentó que «en la misma medida en que seamos más eficaces, en la misma medida que tengamos mejores resultados en la etapa de recuperación, estaremos llegando más rápido a la normalidad del país».
Díaz-Canel enfatizó además, que la nación demanda de una estrategia de fortalecimiento económico para la crisis mundial que se avecina a consecuencia de la pandemia.
En torno al enfrentamiento a la epidemia el mandatario cubano resaltó el extraordinario esfuerzo desplegado por sectores como la salud y la ciencia en la organización de un protocolo para enfrentar al virus SARS-CoV-2, tras tres meses de los primeros pacientes positivos reportados en la isla.
Precisó que en Cuba «no hubo que improvisar nada cuando aparecieron los primeros casos, se ha creado una articulación magnífica de la fuerza civiles con las fuerzas militares en función de un mismo objetivo que ha sido el de proteger la vida humana».
Con la participación también en el programa televisivo del primer Ministro de la República de Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, y el Viceprimer ministro y titular de Economía y Planificación, Alejandro Gil, se destacó igualmente el desempeño de los colaboradores cubanos que apoyan el enfrentamiento a la pandemia en más de una treintena de países a solicitud de sus gobiernos.
El presidente de Cuba se refirió a la obra visionaria del líder histórico de la Revolución cubana, Fidel Castro Ruz, en ámbitos estratégicos como la salud pública la ciencia y los recursos humanos, cada vez mejor calificados y educados.
Díaz-Canel acentuó en torno al «principio de servir a la salud y a la vida libres de una visión mercantilista que es la que ha roto, la que ha colapsado toda la posible expresión de un grupo de estados y gobiernos en las condiciones actuales».
Asimismo, aclaró que el proceso de reanudación de las actividades debe ser de forma gradual y asimétrica, pues hay territorios que el comportamiento de la pandemia está en niveles mínimos y otros que no.
El programa de medidas (previsto en tres fases), estará presente en aspectos vinculados a la salud, turismo, cuestiones laborales y tributarias, comercio exterior e interior, transporte, educación, deporte y cultura, al igual a lo relativo a las actividades durante el verano.

June, 2020.- Amid the intensification of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States of America, the largest of the Antilles prevailed over Covid-19 and is preparing to return to normality in the middle of next week, or the next one.
The foregoing was affirmed by the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in his appearance on the Mesa Redonda television program and affirmed that the new coronavirus constituted a challenge for the Caribbean nation.
“Intensive work has been done to save lives and the results lead us to glimpse that we are in a moment close to moving to recovery.”
He argued that “to the extent that we are more effective, to the same extent that we have better results in the recovery stage, we will be reaching the normalcy of the country faster”.
Díaz-Canel also emphasized that the nation demands an economic strengthening strategy for the looming world crisis as a result of the pandemic.
Regarding the confrontation with the epidemic, the Cuban president highlighted the extraordinary effort made by sectors such as health and science in the organization of a protocol to confront the SARS-CoV-2 virus, after three months of the first positive patients reported in the island
He specified that in Cuba “nothing had to be improvised when the first cases appeared, a magnificent articulation of the civil forces with the military has been created based on the same objective that has been to protect human life.”

Likewise, he clarified that the process of resumption of activities should be gradual and asymmetrical, since there are territories that the behavior of the pandemic is at minimum levels and others that are not.
The program of measures (planned in three phases) will be present in aspects related to health, tourism, labor and tax issues, foreign and domestic trade, transport, education, sport and culture, as well as activities related to the summer.
